Meet John

My wife says I’m retired, but I say I’m unemployed. I was an owner/operator long haul truck driver for 25 years, and before that I was a company line haul driver. Throughout those years on the road, I told myself that when I retire I would play like Hendrix and look like  Arnold.  Now I've been off the road for almost a year and a half and play guitar like a monkey fucking a coconut (awkward and humiliating, but the monkey can’t help itself), and instead of Arnie I look like Buddha on vacation. Despite this I told myself to get off my ass and do something, and this website is me doing just that. 

My wife and I have discussed how I’ve dreamt of playing the guitar since our sophomore year in high school, and for the last 30 years I’ve been trying to learn how to play. This process of learning to play guitar inspired me to want to share the experience with others. While doing research about starting a website, I got in an argument with AI about website names. AI also told me I would have to be an expert in guitar knowledge and playing ability to start a guitar channel that anyone would want to watch. Well guess what, I'm neither of those things, so I’m taking a different approach. I decided to sign up for fender play and got myself an excellent guitar teacher I see once a week, and I will invite anyone to join me on this comedy of errors.

Basically I have a face for radio, and a body that even Jesus shakes his head at. I’m also not a redneck, but a solid blue collar man.  I'm an old Marine Corps Machine Gunner that can come off as an asshole (unintentionally), but when I say everybody is welcome here, I mean everybody. To any one who feels out of place or bullied (the vets, minorities, people with disabilities, lgbtq etc.) this is the place for you. I got a trans kid that takes precedence over friends and If my friends and fellow vets don't like it they can shove a frag up your ass and pull the pin that goes for any other asshole who wants to start shit too.

I am on a journey of learning music and trying to make a place for everyone who needs community.
